In the Gospel reading for this week, Jesus says: I am the gate. Whoever enters through me will be saved. In Jesus we have the new model of the true shepherd. Jesus fulfills the expectation of the Good Shepherd promised by God. Jesus goes to explain his role in our lives and the lives of all the faithful. He tells us that the shepherd enters through the gate to take care of the sheep, not to oppress them. The sheep recognizes his authority and follows Him.
Voices all around us challenge what we believe. We see and hear endless things in the media telling us what we should desire, what matters first, matters most, and what should matter last. However, when we are called to listen to the voice of the shepherd, we will be able to distinguish what is right and what is wrong.
Next, thank you for your support and patience as we move back towards recovery. We are working diligently to get our systems back on track at the Church. Hopefully, we will have our systems up and running in the next few weeks.
We are currently setting up the parish offices in Guyot Hall. I am asking everyone right now not to come to Guyot Hall until we know that it is safe to open the offices. The contractors are still working on the roof of the hall. If there is a need to contact anyone in the parish office, please email. Our email addresses are on the Sthyacinth.org website. Please keep St. Hyacinth in your prayers.
