Please keep in our prayers all those who have been affected by the winter storms here in Texas and the South West. We are all called to be open to reaching out to all those who have been impacted by the storms with our support and services and prayers. In this Sunday’s Gospel were made present at the transfiguration, which takes place only a few days after Jesus makes his first passion prediction to the disciples. Despite the disciples’ confusion as to the significance of it all, the disciples continued to follow Jesus to the road to Jerusalem. Our test of our faith will come and go as well. We follow Jesus without a roadmap, however, we trust in the one that leads the way.
Next, there is an ongoing need for food items in our greater community. To assist a greater number of people in need of food, we are asking everyone to bring in donated food items on a regular basis for the St. Vincent De Paul food pantry. The SVD food pantry is always in need of nutritious nonperishable items such as peanut butter, tuna, canned meats, vegetables, pasta, pasta sauce, canned fruit, rice, beans and shelf stable milk. Thank you for your great generosity.
The winter storms has only made the dissemination of information electronically more important no than ever. We have our website: Sthyaicnth.org, which is updated almost daily with information about the activities that go on in the parish and to view our livestream weekend masses. There is Flocknotes, which is our information delivery service for the parish, in which we email and or text information about the activities of the parish. Go to Flocknote.com/sthyhouston and join the group “Parishioners”. We are on Facebook, go and ‘like’ our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/StHyacinthchurch .
