Preparing the church for Christmas takes a lot of planning, work and helpers. Preparations start on November 30, 2017. This year, there is a schedule for the preparation. Please check the schedule below and let the parish office know what dates and prefer time you or your organization will be helping.
Thursday, November 30th: Move large Christmas decorations from offsite storage. Need 2 trucks and 4 men. Daytime or after 6pm?
Friday and Saturday December 1 & 2: 6+ individuals needed. Check wreath for damage, fluff wreath, add ribbon/ornaments Daytime and evening
Saturday, December 2nd - Daytime and evening if necessary No less than 10 individual needed – decorating baptismal area, hanging lights, covering tables and placing animals in the manager, decorating Guyot Hall Christmas Tree.
Wednesday December 20th: Daytime / after 6pm Assemble poinsettia trees (tree frame) in Guyot Hall and narthex. Fill in poinsettias in tree frames. At least 6 individuals
Sunday, December 24: Starts at 11am. No noon mass. Lot of work, little time. Lots of helper needed. 10 or more individuals required. Church must be ready for 5pm Christmas vigil mass. Sanctuary - Decorate Christmas trees, arrange poinsettias on altar and around choir, ambulatory, baptismal area. Hang large wreath on each side of altar. Place Mary & Joseph in the manger.
