Since the day of our baptism, we belong to the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. We were incorporated into the Body of the Church. The Church is a family as the way the Holy Trinity is a family, and we belong to the Holy Trinity. As we belong to our own family and love flows from our family, Love flows through and from the Holy Trinity. As we celebrated the Holy Trinity, we are challenged to allow the love that we have as a family flow to others in order for more people to come to a greater relationship with the Trinity through Jesus Christ. Please welcome Deacon Dan Foley as the newest member of the STHY Pastoral family. Deacon Dan is a retired Deacon of the Archdiocese of Galveston Houston, who has recently served as Permanent Deacon in his home parish of St. John the Evangelist (Baytown), as volunteer in Special Youth Services (SYS) and at Methodist Hospital San Jacinto Campus. As a now retired Deacon of the Archdiocese, Deacon Foley will be serving our parish in a limited capacity of duties; so please welcome Deacon Foley to STHY. Summer is almost here and that means Vacation Bible School. Registration has begun for this yearly event which will be held July 9 - 13 in Guyot Hall. This year’s theme will be “Shipwrecked: Rescued by Jesus” This VBS event is a wonderful time for our young people to explore their relationship with Christ and the Church. Last year VBS had over 150 kids participating along with over 50 teen and adult volunteers helping our young people grow in their relationship with Christ and the Church. If you have time to volunteer this summer, the Vacation Bible School would be a great place for you to help. Please continue to pray for the young people of our parish. We have accomplished a great work in rising the funds to pay for our new Church organ. Thank you for your generosity. As the summer starts, there is a project to repair the Guyot Hall Roof. Work will start shortly to repair the 33 year old Guyot Hall building at a cost of $24,500. Thank you in your support for our parish facilities. We are also currently working on accepting bids to replace several of the appliances in the Guyot Hall Kitchen before the end of the summer. As we gear up for the summer, I want to make you all aware of the 2018 Annual Archdiocesan Youth Conference which takes place this year on July 20th - 22nd at the Hilton Americas Hotel in downtown Houston under the theme “Chosen” The primary focus for A.Y.C. is to rejuvenate the faith life of our youth, to help them get serious about life in Christ and His Church, and to learn the truth of the Gospel. All who participate will be blessed with powerful witness and messages from major presenters including our own Cardinal DiNardo. Registration for A.Y.C. 2018 is currently underway. If you would like to sponsor a young person for this event, contact our Faith Formation. For our young people who are eligible to attend the conference, registration for A.Y.C. 2018 ends soon. Please continue to pray for the young people of our parish. Another event happening this summer will be the Life Awareness Retreat - Vocations Discernment Weekend be held on Friday July 27- 29 at the Christian Renewal Center. Come and join other single men and women of faith, ages 18-45, who are searching and discerning God’s call in their lives. I am grateful to you for what I know is a meaningful and genuine concern for Our Parish. Together, great things can be accomplished. Your capital campaign pledge will continue to enable STHY to minister to the needs of all who come through our doors for the next 50 years and beyond ; and will allow us to look to the future needs of our Church and community. We need everyone to continue to pray about our faith journey to build Faith, Family and Future… our Sanctuary…. Our Home.
