On this last Sunday of the liturgical year, we celebrate the solemnity of Christ the king, the Anointed one of God who comes to reveal the truth of God’s love for all of us. As we come together to honor Christ our King we are called to prepare ourselves to be open to share in the fullness of life with him in glory. In the kingdom of Christ, we are lovingly embraced by the beloved Son who wills for us salvation and fullness of life.
As of this week we are $ 20,994 from reaching our DSF goal $84,000 for 2019 and we only have a few short weeks before the end of the year. This weekend, for our second collection, we will seek to close the gap on the amount need to complete our designated goal for our parish. I know that we are in difficult economic times, and we have been challenged to give in all kinds of ways, yet each of us has been blessed in so many ways, and we are called to share those blessings with others. If we do not make our DSF goal for the year, the balance that is due will come directly out of the operating expense of the parish. Thank you for your generosity.
I send out my sincere thanks to all who made a pledge for the IGNITE capital campaign. I truly appreciate your generosity and support. For those who have not yet to respond, Please consider making a pledge in the next weeks. IGNITE envelopes are in the Narthex. Last week for Commitment weeknd, we have $317,000 in pledges from just under 100 families. This brings us to approximatly 41% of goal. Thank you for doing your part to help us reach our goal.
For the Thanksgiving holiday, we will have a special Thanksgiving Day Mass November 28th at 10:00 am here at STHY.
Now that the Holiday season is in full swing and there are several opportunities for our parish community to witness the love of Christ to those in need this season. The Angel Tree is up in our Church narthex and the angel tags are on the tree. Please take the time before or after Mass to view the various tags on the tree to take it to make a purchase to help those in need this Christmas season. Thank you for your generosity.
The next opportunity for you to give is to the parish itself. Check out the list in the bulletin or Sthaycinth.org and see how you can share the gift of Christmas with STHY.

The anointing of the sick is administered to bring spiritual and even physical strength during times of illness and to those who are about to undergo a serious operation. The anointing of the sick is a rite that is performed to convey God’s grace to the recipient, through the power of the Holy Spirit. The Catechism teaches, "This sacred anointing of the sick was instituted by Christ our Lord as a true and proper sacrament of the New Testament.
