This Sunday’s Gospel is about service. Every Sunday at Mass we have a number of men, women and children how give of their time to service the community in various liturgical ministries as Hospitality ministers, music ministers, altar servers, sacristans, lectors, extraordinary minister so Holy Communion, and Acolytes. These ministers express real servant hood. How are you called to service in our parish?
Many people sacrifice much of themselves in order to minister in this parish and this is truly what Jesus asks of us to be a servant to all. We need to encourage and thank all those who giving their time to serve our parish family. We must remember that the primary focus for self-giving is in server the world, our community and home. The primary role of the Church is to serve the word and be a sign of God’s reign in our midst.
