Feast of the Presentation of the Lord

Dear brother and sisters,

As we celebrate the Presentation of the Lord, we hear the word from Simeon “you, yourself a sword will pierce" to Mary.  This is also directed to us.  Just as Mary experienced the suffering of Our Lord Jesus Christ as his mother, too as part of Christ body and blood, we will share in the suffering of Christ.   Let us celebrate Christ’s Presentation as we follow the example of Mary and Jesus to embrace our daily suffering and hold them in our heart.

This weekend begins the 2025 DSF Kick-off for the Archdiocese.  However, by the time you read this on Sunday, I will be on my way to the Philippines on a Medical Mission that I signed up for over a year ago.  When I return, we will have our kickoff on the weekend of February 22nd and 23rd.  Please take home the information that the Archdiocese sent us and review.  This year the spotlight is on the Office of Aging.  I want to thank you for exceeding our goal set by the Archdiocese. 

Hopefully, we can do the same this year.  A percentage of anything over our goal comes back to St. Hyacinth.
