Through the Gospels this week we witness the Seventy- Two disciples being sent out along the road of Jerusalem, to all the places Jesus intends to visit. The disciples are given a message to proclaim and they are to proclaim it where the the community they enter are receptive to them or not. : “the kingdom of God is at hand.” We are called to boldly proclaim God’s kingdom as well. We proclaim the goodness of God by the actions in our own lives.
Vacation Bible School starts tomorrow and last through Friday. This year’s theme will be “Roar: Life is Wild - God is good.” This VBS event is a wonderful time for our young people to explore their relationship with Christ and the Church. Last year VBS had over 170 kids participating along with over 50 teen and adult volunteers helping our young people grow in their relationship with Christ and the Church. Please continue to pray for the young people of our parish.
Next weekend’s second collection will be for the Archdiocese of Galveston - Houston Society of St. Vincent De Paul Society Black Bag collection. SVP Food Network, Voucher Ministry provide the support necessary to volunteers in a ten county Galveston Houston area who provide Home Visit Ministry and all these vital programs rely on our Black Bag collection.
