In the Gospel this Sunday, Jesus visits his hometown of Nazareth and arrives at the synagogue to teach. At first the people of Nazareth are amazed at this wisdom and teaching; however, things turn very quickly to suspicion and anger. As Christians, we need to challenge our own perceptions of what God means and what God does. We cannot keep Jesus in a box and just expect Him to do our bidding. Jesus is there for everyone, and our perception of his work should be expanded to know that He is there for Everyone.
The first phase of the Church renovation has started with the instillation of the new boiler system to provide heat for the Church, Religious Education building and offices. The Church now has heat, however, unfortunately, HVAC Unit No# 1 is no longer working and we only have the 40 ton units cooling the Church. We have been told by the contractors that the new HVAC units are due to be installed in August. Keep your prayers coming. The instillation will be a major undertaking to replace our aged system of the parish. Thank you for your generosity towards STHY.
Furthermore, we have signed a contract with Studio Red Architects who will help guide us on phase two of the renovation of the Church. Studio Red Architects have provided their services to several of our parishes here in the Archdiocese, and I am confident they will be able to lead us in the renovation of our fifty plus year old church. For the renovation of the sanctuary, we are planning to replace the existing pews, flooring and lighting in the main church. We have a table set up in the back of the Church near the Baptismal area that has some of the materials that will be used in the renovation of the Church. Thank you for your generosity to St Hyacinth. The summer can be a very busy time for families and during the vacation season it is easy to forget that STHY needs your donations. Setting up recurring donations with Faith Direct is an easy way to make sure STHY still receives your donations while you're away. Enrollment forms are available in the Church office or you can visit Faith Direct’s secure website at www.faithdirect.net to enroll on line. Our parish code is TX526.Thank you for your continued support of our parish family with your time, talent and treasure!
This year we will celebrate the 56th anniversary of the founding of St Hyacinth. For this year’s celebration, the weekend of August 21st and 22nd there will be a weekend of prayer, remembrance, and celebration. There will be giveaways, and fun throughout the weekend culminating with the long-anticipated raffle of wonderful prizes. Soo, please pick up your raffle tickets from one of the volunteers at the entrance to the Church after the weekend masses or come to the parish office to pick up your tickets during the week. We have the same wonderful raffle prizes that were going to be raffled off at the 2020 spring festival, however, those tickets will be added to this raffle for the Parish anniversary.
