The Catechism of the Catholic States of the Holy Spirit: "God's love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us”. As we recognize the Holy Spirit being poured into us, we must work with the Spirit to bring about peace in our world. The only way we are going to have peace in this life is to spread the love of God to the world.
In the gospel this Sunday, Jesus offers his disciples the gift of peace. Through the Holy Spirit, we can have the peace. When we cooperate with the Spirit in our lives, we can help bring about peace in the lives of other as well. We must allow the Spirit to work in us and around us.
Next, I want to take the time to thank everyone who has participated in the 2022 DSF campaign. Our goal this year at St. Hyacinth is $84,000 and we have so far collected $39,579 from only 164 families (as I write for this bulletin). We always strive for 100 percent participation.
The DSF raises funds to support the more than 60 ministries of the Church that no one parish on its own could ever accomplish, but that collectively we can all do to bring God’s love to all people. Most of these ministries operate behind the scenes and we don’t think about them because we just assume that the Church does them, but it can only be done through your support.
If we have 100% participation from everyone, we will make our goal easily. The average pledge is usually around $250. For those who have not given anything to DSF, could you please consider giving that amount this year? Or maybe make a pledge of $365 — a dollar a day to support those great ministries. Any amount that exceeds our goal is returned to us 100 percent, (unlike 50% over goal in the past) so it’s a blessing for us and the Archdiocese. Please prayerfully consider what you will pledge and we’ll see that it is processed. Let’s do our part to, as this year’s theme says, minister with “All for the Glory of God ” I thank you for your continued support of the DSF at STHY. I do want to address the approximately the over 1000 registered families here at STHY that we have no record of your giving to the Church. We do acknowledge that many are giving to the Church through the weekend collection; however, STHY needs you start using your envelopes or move toward electronic giving. In this way we can account for all those who are a part of the parish that are truly giving, and it is an expense of the church for envelopes to be mailed to registered families. We currently spend close to $10K a year on offertory envelopes and if we could use our electronic giving, this would reduce the expense of mailed offertory envelopes dramatically.
Giving online and is an easy and secure way to see that your offertory contributions to the church are made on a timely basis. It is an easy and wonderful way to contribute to the church. You can register https://sthyacinth.org/online-giving. It’s convenient, fast and secure. Thank you for your generosity and support of STHY.

Next, I want to give an update on the new furnishings for the Church. The new Stations of the Cross have arrived; however, they are missing a few components, and we are waiting on information as to when the rest of the components will ship. The new Holy water fonts are in and have been installed near all the entrances of the Church. The new fonts look beautiful. However, Unfortunately, due to supply chain issues, the sanctuary lamps are still on back order. Hopefully these items will come in soon. Keep your fingers crossed.
Finally, due to the rising inflation and the increase in the cost of running the church complex, we are modifying our parish office hours for the Summer. Beginning with Friday May 27th , our parish offices will be closed on Fridays during the summer. We will resume regular Friday office hours beginning on September 9th. Furthermore, along with the parish office, the Adoration chapel will be closed on Fridays. Thank you for your understanding and support.
