During this Easter season, we must remember that God’s greatest showing of His love is sending Jesus into the world “so that we may have life through him.” Jesus tells us in the gospels “If you love me, you will keep my commandments.” Our lives as disciples of Jesus, challenges us to demonstrate our love that we have for God. We are called to go the extra mile in being the best people God created us to be. When Jesus gives us his body and blood as nourishment, he is pouring out his love for us to be a blessing to others. We cannot keep the gift that God give us and not pass on the gift to others.
I want to thank everyone who made and participated in our Spring Festival 2024. The entire complex was packed with games and activities. I think that everyone who attended had a great time. We are still working on the results and will have the final tallies to you soon. All of that was made possible by you, the parishioners of STHY, who gave of your time. Thank you again to everyone who volunteered in a booth, bought a ticket, or lent a hand in any way. We couldn’t have done it without you. Let me again express my sincere thanks to our dedicated core committee, led by Mr. Raul Turner, our Spring Festival Chairperson and hosts festival volunteers for all of their hard work and efforts. Special thanks to the Catholic Daughters, Knights of Columbus, Our Men’s and Women’s ACTS community members. What a blessing they all are to our parish. We’re already looking forward to Spring Festival 2025!
St Hyacinth, like every parish in the archdiocese, has a set goal for the 2024 Diocesan Services Fund. Currently our goal is $81,200. Your help is crucial in meeting this goal, which will provide the necessary funds for the ministries that help hundreds of thousands every year. If we as a parish beat our goal, we will see a 50% return of every dollar by which we exceed our goal, and the remaining funds will go to assist the parishes with the greatest need. Additionally, our parish will receive 50% back on every donation made by first time donors, so your help is crucial! So, I ask you to join me in supporting the DSF. Whether you are able to give a little, or you’re able to give a little more, we as a community must once again come together to support these good works of our local Church, and spread the Good News, all for the Glory of God. Information on how you can support the Diocesan Services Fund can be found in the bulletin, Sthaycinth.org and online at www.archgh.org/dsf. Thank you for your prayers and support.
