In the Hail Mary, we pray the greeting Elizabeth offers to Marry, “ Blessed are you among women and blessed is the fruit of your womb (Jesus).” This Marian devotion and prayer continue to nurture our spiritual lives and the lives of other. This song of praise is our prayer for Jesus to enter our hearts to give us a new way of being just as God gave Mary a new way of being.
Pope Pius XII dogmatically proclaimed the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary as a matter of faith in 1950. In Pope Pius XII Apostolic Constitution “Munificentissimus Deus” (Most Bountiful God), which defined the dogma, contains the Pontiff's accounts of many longstanding traditions by which the Church has celebrated the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary throughout its history. The Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary recalls the spiritual and physical departure of the mother of Jesus Christ from the earth, when both her soul and her body were taken into the presence of God.
Next weekend we will celebrate the 56th anniversary of the founding of St Hyacinth. Saturday will be a day of prayer, Thanksgiving, and remembrance. Sunday we will have a celebration in Guyot Hall after the noon Mass where there will be food, prizes, silent auction, giveaways along with the long-anticipated raffle of wonderful prizes.
The first phase of the Church renovation has started with the instillation of the new boiler system to provide heat for the Church, Religious Education building and offices. The Church now has heat, however, unfortunately, HVAC Unit No# 1 is no longer working, and we only have the one 40-ton units cooling the Church.
We have been told by the contractors that the new HVAC units are due to be installed in end of August. Keep your prayers coming. The instillation will be a major undertaking to replace our aged system of the parish. Thank you for your generosity towards STHY.
Furthermore, Studio Red Architects is guiding us through phase two of the renovation of the Church. For the renovation of the sanctuary, we are planning to replace the existing pews, flooring and lighting in the main church. This is an exciting time, the work should be begin shortly in the month of September on the renovations.
There is work going on throughout the Church building complex. The Youth room in Guyot Hall has been revitalized with new paint, carpeting and flooring. Revitalizing the Guyot Hall classrooms has been an ongoing project with painting and stripping floors in preparation for the new Faith Formation Education year.
The summer can be a very busy time for families and during the vacation season it is easy to forget that STHY needs your donations. Please go to Sthayicnth.org and go to the online giving tab and either set up your automatic online giving or donate online. Thanks you again for your kind generosity.
