Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ
The Archbishop of Constantinople and Early Church Father, St. John Chrysostom, wrote in his Easter Homily in the third century:
May the Lord fill us with joy as we remember these truths and may the Lord help us live in the victory of His conquest over sin and hell. In Christ’s resurrection we are freed from the slavery to sin and liberated to truly live in His abundant life, to become who He created us to be. Hallelujah! Hallelujah! Hallelujah!
Indeed, Christ has risen, and he come to us as he came to the first disciples, as we are called to open our hearts to the risen presence. Our celebration of the resurrection of Christ is a celebration of joy and hope. As we started the year with the tornado, we continue with the hope of rising again with Christ.
As our hearts are turned toward the risen Jesus during this Holy Season, let us continue to make Jesus present in the lives of all the people around us, in order for those who doesn't know Christ, to see the risen Christ in us
This Easter, I want to especially think all those that are a part of our Liturgical ministry team here at St. Hyacinth. Liturgy is the great work of the Church, and with the cooperation of the Holy Spirit, we at STHY are working to make sure that Liturgy is done respectfully and properly in accordance to the norms set down by the Church.
I want to give a special thanks to Mrs. Pamella Pitman, our Directory of Liturgy and Music, along with our multitude of choir members and musicians who have brought wonderful songs and music to our Easter celebrations.
I want to thank Mrs. Pamela Johnson, our Director of Faith Formation, along with our team of catechist and sponsors for their work of religious formation in RCIA. Congratulations goes to the people that we brought into full communion with the Catholic Church this Easter Vigil.
Finally, I want to thank all those behind the scenes in our parish, Mrs. Mary Jo Howell, our parish secretary, Mrs. Elena Rodriguez, our bookkeeper and Deacon John Rapacki our Parish Administrator, Stephanie Holweg, Faith Formation Administrative Assistant and Chris Hoehn, Parish Maintenance who have kept St. Hyacinth on track during the recovery. Please pray for the staff of St. Hyacinth.
As St. Hyacinth moves back to recovery, please pray for all those who have been affected by the tornado and thank you for your patience and we move to recovery. If you need to contact us at the parish office, please email. Our contact email addresses are on the contact page of the website sthyacinth.org.
Christ is Risen! He is truly Risen! Alleluia!
God Bless
